Rapporteur’s Amendments, Black Friday, New Coronavirus Strain and Over 26 November

The National Congress asks the STF to revoke the decision on the rapporteur’s amendment, the beginning of Black Friday and the discovery of a new variant of the coronavirus in Africa are among the highlights of this Friday morning (26).

Rapporteur Amendments

The National Congress asked the Supreme Court to revoke Justice Rosa Weber’s suspension on the decision on the rapporteur’s amendments. The Senate postponed the session to next Monday (29) to regulate changes in the allocation of funds, which was scheduled for today.

The searches for the victims who were on a plane that fell into the sea in the region between Ubatuba, on the north coast of São Paulo, and Paraty, on the south coast of Rio de Janeiro, will resume today. The Brazilian Air Force (FAB) announced that it had found a body that could be one of the three occupants of the twin-engine aircraft. Wreckage of a plane similar to the missing model was also located.

Vaccine passport

The Council of Municipal Health Secretariats of Rio de Janeiro (Cosems-RJ) asked the Federal Government to require a vaccine passport for foreigners to enter and stay in Brazil. The letter sent to the Ministry of Health demands strict measures to control circulation in ports, airports and borders across the country.

New Covid-19 variant

South African scientists have discovered a new variant of the coronavirus in Botswana, with about 100 cases reported so far in both countries. The UK government has already announced the inclusion of six countries in the region on the travel red list. The restrictions apply for flights from South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, Swaziland and Zimbabwe, which will be temporarily suspended.

Black Friday

Important date for commerce, Black Friday officially starts today. Unlike 2020, this year’s edition should have in-person sales, after a year restricted to e-commerce. The expectation is of more than R$ 3 billion handled, with the intention of buying from the Brazilian greater than last year, according to a survey.
