Two two-seater training aircraft collided in the air, its authorities announced South Korea. It is a rare accident, according to media, in which three pilots lost their lives and the fourth was injured.
The collision of the two KT-1 aircraft took place near their base, in the city of Satsan (southeast), at 13:35 (local time; 07:35 Greek time), the Air Force said in a press release.
The three of them pilots were killed and a fourth was seriously injured, according to a firefighter who spoke to South Korea’s national news agency Yonhap.
According to Jonap, more than 30 firefighters and members of rescue teams are operating at the scene of the crash, according to Reuters and the Athens News Agency.
