Rarible adds NFT support to Polygon

One of the largest NFT platforms, Rarible, has announced the start of support for the Polygon blockchain.

The Rarible NFT trading platform announced the implementation of support for non-fungible tokens issued on the Polygon blockchain. This addition increases the number of platforms available to users to four – Flow, Tezos, Ethereum and Polygon. Rarible co-founder and CEO Alexei Falin said that despite the rapid growth of the digital art market, the NFT industry has long had a problem with high fees.

The Polygon sidechain solves a number of problems inherent in the parent Ethereum blockchain. For example, transactions on the sidechain are an order of magnitude faster and cheaper than on the main network. Polygon also relies on a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus model, as opposed to the energy-intensive Proof-of-Work (PoW) model that Ethereum still supports.

Falin said that as one of the largest NFT platforms, Rarible has a responsibility to address the challenges posed by the creation and distribution of NFTs and the impact the industry has on the environment.

The company also announced the launch of a profile feature that allows users to log in using different wallets. The feature will support up to 20 different wallets on different blockchains at the same time.

In addition to supporting Polygon on its platform, Rarible also announced a partnership with Polygon Studios, a company dedicated to supporting blockchain games, NFTs, and the metaverse. The company will assist Rarible with marketing and developer support.

We will remind, earlier the head of the department for the development of the metaverse Polygon Studios Brian Trunzo (Brian Trunzo) said that the NFT and metaverse industries have great potential in the field of haute couture.
