The Railway Regulatory Authority completed the certification of trains ETR 470.001, ETR 470.006 and ETR 470.008 of TRENITALIA SpA following a relevant application submitted by the Company.
The initial certification given by RAS for the ETR 470 train, paved the way based on the current legal provisions, in order to complete the approval process for the three aforementioned trains at a very fast pace.
In particular, the team of evaluators of the Railway Regulatory Authority examined in detail the application of TRENITALIA SpA concerning the compliance of the vehicles ETR 470.001, ETR 470.006 and ETR 470.008 with the type of the original vehicle that was certified.
Compliance of vehicles with an approved vehicle type, as the procedure under which the three trains are approved by the RAS for placing on the market is called, has been completed within the stipulated timeframe.
By its decision, the Plenary Session of the Railway Regulatory Authority will immediately proceed to the ratification of the approvals of a vehicle complying with a type, received by the trains with specific identification numbers (European Identification Number).
At the same time, it will authorize the President of the Railway Regulatory Authority, Mrs. Ioanna Tsiaparikou, to sign and submit all the necessary documents to the OSS electronic platform of the European Railway Agency (ERA) as a “Decision Maker”.
