His son, Raul Gil Junior, commented this Wednesday (23) in an interview with the program “The Noite”, conducted by Danilo Gentili, that many people called him to ask the presenter not to end his career after the statement.
He commented that he advised his father: “I know you are sad about a number of things, because we, unfortunately, end up being attacked”. “It doesn’t seem like it, but ageism exists,” he continued.

The presenter has a career spanning over 60 years. According to the SBT website, he started on television in 1957, on a show called “Calouros Toddy”, presented by Hebe Camargo, on the former TV Paulista.
Soon after, he began traveling with the Peruvian Caravan, directed by Silvio Santos — which consisted of shows for circuses that toured the capital of São Paulo and greater São Paulo in the 1950s.
In 1967, he got his own program on TV Excelsior, “Raul Gil Room”.
His presentation style guaranteed him productions on the channels Bandeirantes, Tupi, TV Rio and Manchete – until he started on SBT, in 1981, where he is currently presenting the “Raul Gil Program”.
