The CEO of Real Vision compared the rate of adoption of cryptocurrencies by society with the development of the Internet. The macroeconomist came to the conclusion that the slowdown in the development of the industry will begin in four years.
Raoul Pal curled, which is optimistic about cryptocurrencies. According to the businessman, the market capitalization continues to increase as new investors enter the industry:
“Investors have not left the crypto ecosystem as they did in 2018. I think if the pace of development of the industry remains at the same level, then by 2030 we will have five or four billion people using cryptocurrency.”
Pal believes that if a slowdown in the development of the crypto industry happens, it will only happen after the digital asset industry reaches high levels.
“Last year, the growth in adoption of cryptocurrencies was 186%. To understand what it is, it is enough to compare this figure with the speed of the introduction of the Internet. This speed is about twice as high. Yes, the penetration of the Internet is gradually decreasing, but the numbers are still huge. This comparison of the two industries is a very important element in assessing the future market capitalization of the cryptocurrency,” said Pal.
The macroeconomics expert notes that by 2030, the capitalization of the cryptocurrency market will reach astronomical figures.
“The Internet after 2006, having reached five billion users, began to slow down the pace of development. If we correct the cryptocurrency market by the same amount, we get a 76% increase in cryptocurrency. In the next four years, we will reach 2.8 billion users. If we slow down to match the speed of the development of the Internet, we will get 1.2 billion users, ”Pal emphasized.
In June, the Central Bank of Canada reported that the proportion of citizens in the country owning bitcoin (BTC) reached 13% in 2021, up 8% from the previous year.
