The General Price Index-10 (IGP-10) fell by 0.1% in May, compared to the previous month, which had registered a high of 2.48%. The data was released this Tuesday (17), by the GetĂșlio Vargas Foundation (FGV).
The indicator accumulates a high of 7.73% in the year and 12.13% in 12 months.
According to AndrĂ© Braz, coordinator of FGV’s Price Indices, the fall between April and May in the prices of major agricultural and mineral commodities contributed to the fall in producer inflation.
The number is the average of three indicators: the Broad Producer Price Index (IPA), which dropped 0.08% in May, the Consumer Price Index (IPC), with a variation of 0.54% in the fifth month of year, and the National Construction Cost Index (INCC), which changed 0.74% in the same period.
The IGP-10 calculates producer, consumer and civil construction prices between the 11th of the previous month and the 10th of the reference month.
