“The Central Bank of Australia will keep the key interest rate unchanged at 3.85% on Tuesday, despite inflation remaining well above the target range“, according to the latest Reuters poll of almost 30 economists.

Although expectations of future rate hikes were very much alive, a large majority of three-quarters of economists, that is, 22 of 30 predicted the RBA would keep its official cash rate at 3.85% on June 6.
the remaining eight in the survey conducted between May 29 and June 1 they expected a rise of 25 basis points.
Interest rate futures then had an increase probability of about one in three.
More than half of the respondents 18 of 28 expected rates to reach 4.10% or higher by the end of September, including four who saw rates at 4.35%. The remaining 10 expected rates to remain at 3.85%.
