The re-elected mayor of Cabreúva (SP) Antonio Carlos Mangini (PL), died last Sunday (15) due to complications from pancreatic cancer, which he had been facing since 2021. He was 58 years old and was hospitalized at Hospital Sírio Libanês, in the capital paulista.
Mangini died 17 days before assuming his new mandate, for which he was elected in October with 25,660 votes (equivalent to 59.66% of the total).
The governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans) expressed regret over the death. “My solidarity with friends, family and all citizens of Cabreúva”, he wrote.
The city’s acting mayor, Noemi Bernardes, declared seven days of official mourning in the city.
Mangini was born in Sorocaba (SP) and was a retired military police officer. He graduated in Human Resources and had a postgraduate degree in Public Security.
