Macron’s inauguration causes strong reactions in the country mosque of a French-Turkish association by Zoris Embran, an MP of the far-right party of Marine Le Pen. Frank Papajian who is a member of the Coordinating Council of Armenian Associations in France and author of a book on the Erdogan regime speaks of a “sign of the times”, but also a “sign of Turkish soft power.
In an interview with Le Figaro, Papajian says that in his book on Recep Tayyip Erdogan, he explains how Turkey has penetrated France for twenty years and how it has organized its influence through nationalist, educational and religious networks.
When asked “how is the Turkish “soft power” expressed on the territory of France”, Papajian answers: “It is very simple. Through community schools that are beyond the control of national education, through mosques and through radical imams.” And he concludes by saying that “the Turkish state is the one that organized, designed and financed all these structures”.
