Reactions of the Turks for Britons who scattered the ashes of their relatives in the sea

Great reactions have been caused in Turkey after the move of a group of Britons to scatter the ashes of a 43-year-old relative on his favorite beach in Marmaris. Nathan John Leonard breathed his last last April when he contracted pneumonia and the coronavirus and suffered a cardiac arrest. Last Monday morning, about 40 of his relatives gathered at Uzunyalı Beach to scatter his ashes. This specific move caused strong reactions from the residents of the area, who expressed concerns about public health. Local health authorities told the Daily Mail that they sampled the water after the ceremony, with local media noting that it was planned and not done because of the ceremony. It is worth noting that cremation is not legal in Turkey.
