The US announced yesterday that they would not allow the president of the Palestinian Authority Mahmut Abbas to travel to New York next month for the United Nations General Assembly, where Washington’s allies are preparing to recognize Palestine as a state. A State Department official said Abbas and more about 80 Palestinians would be influenced by the decision to refuse and recall entry by members of the organization on the liberation of Palestine and the Palestinian authority based on the West Bank. Abbas was planning to attend the UN Annual General Assembly in Manhattan.
