Reading the 500 best books in the world would take just over 5 months, says magazine

An average reader would take five months, 15 days, 21 hours and 44 minutes to read the 500 “best books of all time” according to The Economist magazine.

The 500 works were defined according to the website thegreatestbooks.orgwhich compiles information from more than 300 book recommendation lists from press outlets or review platforms to determine which ones appear most frequently.

The site’s “best books of all time” list changes regularly as new nominations are added and counted. To conduct this survey, The Economist used the first 500 books that appeared on the list on July 1 as a basis.

The calculation of time that resulted in five months, 15 days, 21 hours and 44 minutes was made based on the website howlongtoread.comwhich estimates the approximate reading time of various books based on the length of audiobooks.

The average reading time for an adult is 300 words per minute.

Of course, this period of time does not take into account other needs of the average adult such as: sleeping, working, bathing or just resting the eyes.
