Readjusted INSS benefits will be paid from January 25; see dates

The National Institute of Social Security (INSS) should start making the first payment of benefits already with annual adjustments between January 25th and February 7th, as defined by the 2023 calendar released last Thursday (8th).

According to the autarchy, policyholders with benefits equivalent to the minimum wage receive from the 25th, while those with monthly income above the national floor will have payments deposited from the 1st of February.

For those who are entitled to a monthly income of up to one minimum wage, the adjustments will be with the amount defined by the federal government for the national wage floor in 2023.

According to a provisional measure published this Monday (12) by the federal government, as of January 1, 2023, the minimum wage will be R$ 1,302. According to the General Secretariat of the Presidency, “the correction of the value of the minimum wage for 2023 considers an estimated variation of 5.81% for the National Consumer Price Index (INPC), in the period from January to December 2022, plus a real gain of around 1.5%”.

As for those who earn more than the minimum wage, the readjustment is according to the inflation recorded in the previous year, measured by the National Consumer Price Index (INPC).

In order to know when the payment will be deposited, the insured must have the final number of the benefit card in hand, without considering the last check digit (the one that comes after the dash).

For example, in benefit number (NB) 123.456.789 -0, the final digit is 9.

For those who have been receiving the benefit for “some time”, according to the official statement from the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, the usual date applies.

The calendar includes more than 37 million retirees, pensioners and other insured persons. Check it out below.
