“Ready? Poetry!”. Here is the first poetic call center

Poetic assistance on the phone. Like a hug from a distance, a word that fills a void. Thus it was born “Ready Poetry!” the first call center of poems and songs on the phone to feel close and ask oneself with the poem “Hello, how are you?”. A gesture that may often seem obvious but which in the midst of the pandemic, which has exposed us to our frailties, takes on an even wider value. A way of saying: “I am here”.

And that’s what the Roman singer-songwriter and poetess imagined the creator of this initiative Giulia Ananìa. “I think that the fact that we have stopped telling each other things, feelings, asking ourselves how you are, saying I love you, is what is making us sick in general. In my life the words have often been of beautiful armor “, Ananias told us presenting his book of poems Love is a burden.

Thus, drawing inspiration from the unforgettable humanity of Tales on the phone of Gianni Rodari, with whom the imaginary accountant Bianchi told his distant little girl every evening at nine o’clock a story, «Hello? Poetry!” he will whisper in the ear of his audience, poetic readings. To do so will be many actors, writers and musicians who will answer the phone and recite the chosen poem live.

Among the names that have joined the initiative, born in collaboration with the Muovileidee Cultural Association and with the contribution of the Municipality of Rome VIII, there are Matilde De Angelis, Erri De Luca, Giulia Ananìa, Michela Andreozzi, Paola Minaccioni and many other leading names in the Italian artistic world.

To receive assistance from the poetic call center just dial it 06 40060606 and the person in charge of answering will accept the phone call and then pass it on to the artist at that moment available to dedicate and interpret a poem or sing a song. The days in which the service will be active are: Monday 28 and Wednesday 30 December from 2pm to 6pm, Tuesday 29 and Thursday 31 December from 9am to 2pm. Given the large number of subscriptions, new dates will also be available for the month of January. To find out which ones, just follow the pages Facebook o Instagram of «Pronto Poesia!».
