Real is the second currency that rises the most in the year and interest rates weigh on public debt

The real was the second currency that appreciated the most in 2022, according to a survey obtained by the CNN Brazil . The Brazilian currency is only behind the Russian ruble among the ones that have appreciated the most so far this year against the dollar.

Among the main reasons are the commodities boom, which causes a lot of foreign investment to enter the country, and the devaluation of the real last year compared to the US currency, making the correction something already expected.

On the other hand, interest rates are beginning to weigh on the public debt, as they are more linked to inflation and the Selic rate, which are currently at high levels.

Presented by Priscila Yazbek, the CNN Money presents a balance of news issues that influence markets, finances and the direction of society and the dynamics of power in Brazil and in the world.
