Rebel Wilson quotes Sacha Baron Cohen in her book and accuses him of trying to silence her

Rebel Wilson says Sacha Baron Cohen tried to stop the release of his new memoir, “Rebel Rising” . Wilson and Baron Cohen starred together “Spy’s Brother” in 2016.

“I will not be intimidated or silenced by expensive lawyers or PR crisis managers,” Wilson wrote on Instagram on Monday (25).

“The 'idiot' I'm talking about in ONE CHAPTER of my book is Sacha Baron Cohen,” he added.

Without mentioning the actor's name, Wilson had already written on social media: “He is trying to prevent the press from publicizing my new book. But the book WILL be released and you will all know the truth.”

In his posts, Wilson did not specify what he wrote about Baron Cohen. However, a spokesperson for the comedian and actor told CNN that Wilson's claims are false.

“While we appreciate the importance of speaking out, these demonstrably false allegations are directly contradicted by extensive and detailed evidence, including documents, footage and eyewitness accounts from those present before, during and after the production of 'Spy Brothers,'” said the spokesperson. he said.

“When I first came to Hollywood, people were like, yeah, 'I have a no-idiots policy, which means, yeah, I don't work with idiots.' I was like, 'Oh yeah. I mean, that seems sensible or logical. But then it really hit me because I worked with a huge jerk and yes, I now definitely have a no jerk policy,” Wilson said in a video shared on Instagram earlier this month.

In a 2016 interview with Marie Claire from the United Kingdom, Wilson talked about Baron Cohen wanting her to film a nude scene in “The Spy,” which she refused.

“You want to know if people [por trás das câmeras] they have a certain sensitivity and decency,” Wilson said at the time. “And a lot of times in comedy they’re not those people.”

“Rebel Rising” will be released on April 2nd.
