Receipt lottery: is it working?

It seems counterintuitive to say that a departure postponed twice was rushed, but for the receipt lottery it seems to be so. The first to complain were the merchants, now it’s up to the consumers and only a few days have passed since the start of the system that awards the buyer.

There is only one thing really simple: get the code to participate. You go to the dedicated site and enter your tax code. It takes less than a minute. With the code in hand you should be able to enter the lottery with the purchases made.

This is not always the case.

There are many shops that have not yet adapted and have not updated their cash register software. At least one in three is not ready according to Confesercenti. For now, there are no penalties for those who do not accept the codes and retailers have until April to adjust the tills. Citizens can report them to the tax office for a tax check, but only from March.

The receipt lottery is instead active in large retailers. Only here arises another problem already reported by many consumers. If al supermarket you use discounts or vouchers to pay for part of the expense you cannot participate in the lottery even with the part of purchases that are paid in a different way. Either you forgo the lottery or you have to ask for two separate receipts.

The times have also been accused by Altroconsumo. The many changes in the rules, the postponements and the announcement just three days before the start have not helped and sinceconsumer association they say maybe it was better to start with everything already organized in April when the update for the cash registers is mandatory.

There is a path with a few steps in the second part of the online registration, the one you need to check the winning receipts and enter your pec address to be contacted in case of winning. Spid, electronic identity card or national service card are required to enter the reserved area. The first draw is scheduled for mid-March.
