Receipt lottery kicks off on February 1, what you need to know

With a month late and not in the same way in all shops and in all parts of Italy, but the receipt lottery part. The date is Monday 1st February and the first draw is set for March 1st. Again, it is a measure of the plan to combat tax evasion and limit the use of cash such as cashback.

TIMES
Multi-speed start is due to the division of regions by color. Not all of them will have their shops open from February 1st and even after failure adjustment of cash registers necessary to enter the code that the customer is going to provide.

Customers can report the refusal by merchants and shops to take the lottery code only from March 1st, and retailers have until April 1st to update the electronic recorders to transmit data and report non-cash payment.

REGISTRATION
Since December 1st, the site has been active to register and obtain the lottery code to be presented at the cashier for each payment with cards and ATMs to participate in the draws. You must be of legal age and resident in Italy to participate in the prize competition which is linked to the electronic receipt. To get the lottery code you need to enter your tax code.

CODE
To participate, the shopkeeper is shown the lottery code and this is combined with the receipt (as is already the case automatically for connection with the health card in the pharmacy). Each receipt generates a number of virtual lottery tickets equal to one ticket for each euro spent up to a maximum of 1,000 tickets for purchases of 1,000 euros and up.

EXTRACTIONS
The extractions, for which it is not necessary to keep the receipt, will be annual and monthly (every second Thursday / Friday of the month for the matches issued in the previous month), but weekly ones are also assumed. Each receipt participates in all draws. Each person can have a virtual ticket for each euro spent up to a maximum of 1000 virtual tickets for purchases of an amount equal to or greater than 1000 euro. With 10 receipts you get up to 10,000 virtual tickets, 100 receipts up to 100,000 virtual tickets. If the amount spent is greater than one euro, any decimal figure greater than 49 cents brings another virtual ticket. The combination between the lottery code and the receipt is transmitted to the Revenue Agency by the merchant.

AWARDS
The shopkeeper. The prizes are divided as follows: 15 of 25,000 euros each for the consumer and 15 of 5,000 euros each for the operator, every week; 10 of 100 thousand euros each for the consumer and 10 of 20 thousand euros each for the merchant, every month; a € 5 million premium for the consumer and a € 1 million premium for the merchant, each year.

PAYMENT
The government has allocated 50 million euros. The Agency communicates the victory with a certified mail or a registered letter. An invitation arrives at the local branch of the Agency and here the payment method is communicated. Prizes must be claimed within 90 days of winning.

EXPENSES THAT ARE NOT NECESSARY
Receipts for online purchases and those from professionals with electronic invoices are not valid. Those for which the data of the fees are sent to the system with the Health Card are not counted: pharmacy, optician, veterinarian. Not even those for which there are already tax deductions are included. Those who pay with meal vouchers cannot participate and mixed payments are not allowed, i.e. partly in cash and partly with cards. The possibility of having receipts of purchases made by bank transfer is still being studied.
