Recep Tayyip Erdogan is worried about Donald Trump’s intentions for the Middle East

Turkey’s president hopes that Donald Trump will take a different approach to the Middle East during his presidency, but finds some messages coming from his side troubling, according to the NTV network. “It seems to me that it is too early to make any conclusions about this,” Tayyip Erdogan told reporters on his flight back from Baku. “We hope that Trump will take different steps regarding the region during his term because the message that is being sent sometimes worries us,” he said according to NTV. Asked about Turkey’s decision to cut off trade relations with Israel in May, the Turkish president said Ankara currently has no trade relations with Israel and no desire to develop them. “A Republic of Turkey led by Tayyip Erdogan cannot continue to develop its relations with Israel.
