Recession risk apprehension marks debates on economic direction in Davos

Rising inflation across the globe, low growth prospects in major economies and the chance of food shortages for the poorest dominated much of this week’s discussions at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Over the past few days, the city in the Swiss Alps has once again hosted the event, which brings together the so-called world economic elite, after two years without a face-to-face meeting, because of the pandemic. The debates were attended by the Minister of Economy, Paulo Guedes, as the main representative of the Brazilian government.
