The survey shows that the capital of Pernambuco and the Argentine capital lead the search for air tickets on the company’s website and application in relation to national and international travel.
For Christmas, the company recorded a 38% increase in searches for airline tickets compared to the same period last year. New Year’s Eve also saw an increase, with growth of 32%. The data refers to customer searches carried out in the second half of the year for trips towards the end of the year.
Most popular destinations for Christmas
All of the 10 most popular national destinations for Brazilians for Christmas are state capitals. Ranked among the most coveted places for summer holidays, Recife appears as the city most sought after by Brazilians for Christmas celebrations within the country.
Porto Alegre, whose airport reopened at the end of October, and Fortaleza, in Ceará, complete the podium.
Regarding international travel, Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina, leads the search for Christmas. Completing the podium are the cities of Rome, capital of Italy, and London, capital of England. Of the 10 most sought after international destinations by Brazilians for the period, five are in South America, including two cities in Peru, Lima and Cusco.
For the date, the research considered check-ins on holidays (12/25) and up to seven days before (12/19).

Most popular destinations for New Year
Of the 10 most searched national destinations for New Year on Decolar, only one is not a state capital: Porto Seguro, on the south coast of Bahia, which appears in 8th position. Repeating the Christmas searches, Recife leads the search for tickets for New Year’s Eve. Salvador and Rio de Janeiro complete the top 3.
Regarding international destinations, Brazilians have been betting on Buenos Aires, which comes out ahead once again. Rome appears next, repeating the intentions of Christmas. The podium, however, is filled by Montevideo, the capital of the neighboring country Uruguay.
In addition to the capital, Argentina is also targeted by Mendoza, which appears in 4th position. Italy also appears with two destinations among the 10 most searched for New Year’s Eve: in addition to Rome, Milan is in 5th position.
Destinations such as Punta Cana and Aruba, which appear in 6th and 9th place, respectively, are representatives of the Caribbean.
