The Civil Police arrested, this Thursday morning (11), in Recife, businessman Rodrigo Carvalheira, aged 34, accused of committing a series of crimes against women.
The case is being investigated in secret by the 1st Police Station Specialized in Women's Assistance, in Santo Amaro.
The businessman was arrested at home, in the Boa Viagem neighborhood and will be detained preventively during the investigation.
Carvalheira is the heir to a family of businesspeople who participate in Carnival in Pernambuco, he owns an events agency and has already presided over a political party in his state.
In a statement, Carvalheira's defense lawyer, Graciele Queiroz, said that his arrest caused “astonishment and strangeness”.
