Brazil broke a record for new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, with 298,408 confirmed, taking the moving average to 189,526 – the highest level in history. The country has already surpassed the mark of 26 million infections since the beginning of the pandemic, in March 2020. Also in the last 24 hours, 1041 people died from the disease, with an average of 702 deaths per day. The data are from the National Council of Health Secretaries (Conass).
