Record new Covid-19 cases, high inflation and more than January 11

Record new daily cases of Covid-19 in the world and Brazilian inflation at the highest level in six years are among the highlights of the afternoon of January 11.

Covid-19 no world

The world has set a new record for the daily record of Covid-19 cases. In the last 24 hours, there were 3.28 million new coronavirus infections, according to the Our World in Data platform. It is the first time that the daily pandemic record exceeds 3 million.

Omicron in Europe

More than half of the European population is expected to be infected with the Omicron variant of the coronavirus in the next six to eight weeks. The projection was made by the World Health Organization (WHO).

Covid-19 in football

An outbreak of Covid-19 hits the main football clubs in São Paulo. At least 24 players are infected with the new coronavirus. Corinthians, Santos, São Paulo and Palmeiras discovered athletes with Covid-19 during the re-performance for training and medical exams.
