A record 289 deaths from COVID-19 were recorded by Ukraine in the past 24 hours, as stated today by the Minister of Health Maxim Stepanov.
The previous record was set on December 11, when the disease caused by the young man coronavirus had caused the death of 285 Ukrainians.
At the same time, as reported by AMPE, a record was recorded in yesterday’s admissions to hospitals of patients with COVID-19, 4,887, which were almost 15% more than March 11, which was recorded the previous record with the admission of 4,250 people in one day in hospitals with COVID-19, Stepanov said on Facebook.
The number of hospitalizations did not exceed 2,000 at the peak of the new coronavirus epidemic in the country at the end of 2020, but began to increase in late winter during the second wave of the pandemic.
Stepanov added that in the past 24 hours there were also 11,833 new cases of coronavirus in the country, bringing the total to 1,489,023, while the total number of deaths so far from COVID-19 is 28,986.

Bosnia: More than 1,600 cases
The Bosnian government announced on Tuesday that 1,606 cases of SARS-CoV-2 had been confirmed in the past 24 hours, while another 53 patients with COVID-19 had died.
In Sarajevo, a canton where the eponymous capital belongs and is the epicenter of the pandemic in the Balkan country, 555 cases were identified.
On Monday, the Sarajevo University clinic declared a state of emergency and suspended all licenses of medical and nursing staff, reminds AMPE.
According to the Bosnian state news agency FENA, hospitals in the canton of Zenica-Doboj run the risk of running out of medical oxygen if the virus continues to spread at the same rate.
On Monday, Bosnian authorities announced 63 deaths due to COVID-19 within 24 hours, the second heaviest daily score since the pandemic broke out in its territory. So far, Bosnia and Herzegovina has recorded 5,637 deaths out of a total of 146,437 infections.
