On April 23, the Savelovsky District Court of Moscow satisfied the claim for the recovery of 18 billion rubles from the WEX system administrator Alexey Bilyuchenko (Ivanov). Journalist Irek Murtazin reported this in on your Telegram channel.
The plaintiff was the official operator of WEX – the Singaporean company World Exchange Services – represented by the owner Igor Pravdin. Until July 2023, the exchange belonged to Dmitry “Sailor” Khavchenko.
The decision did not enter into legal force.
Previously, World Exchange Services had already achieved through the court the reimbursement of 3.1 billion rubles of WEX assets, which Bilyuchenko accused of embezzling. In this case, the “red admin” was sentenced in September 2023 to 3.5 years in prison and a fine of 500,000 rubles.
Bilyuchenko himself called the imposed punishment “too harsh.” He also stated that Pravdin is “authorized to personally <…> distribute <…> among users” of the exchange as compensation for damages.
Let us recall that two former employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, who were involved in the investigation of the WEX case, were arrested in absentia and put on the international wanted list on charges of receiving a bribe in the amount of 4.9 billion rubles in cryptocurrencies from Bilyuchenko.
