The meeting of the cabinet of the Draghi government is in progress, and according to leaks in the Italian press, the whole Italy is going to turn into a red belt for Catholic Easter.
The aim is to avoid travel and overcrowding with measures reminiscent, on a slightly more limited scale, of last year’s Catholic Easter.
At the same time, from next Monday bans will be increased in much of Italy, as broadcast by AMPE.
As it leaked, the yellow zone (which provides greater ease of movement and operation of stores) will be abolished throughout the country from March 15 until the beginning of April.
With the sole exception of Sardinia, which has a very small number of infections from coronavirus, all other regions of the country are expected to turn into an orange and mainly red zone. This means that movements will be made solely for reasons of proven need and that the operation of commercial enterprises will be allowed only for shops with basic necessities and for a few others, such as bookstores and toy shops.
It will also be possible to make only one visit per day to friendly houses of up to two people.
The Draghi government is preparing to present the measures this afternoon and the first reaction of the presidents of the Italian regions is positive.
