The head of the Redmi brand, Liu Weibing, on the social network Weibo, announced that the days of the Redmi K30 Ultra are already numbered – the smartphone is retiring. Instead, a new model will be released, and on the new single-chip MediaTek platform.
Interestingly, Redmi K30 Ultra was released only five months ago – on August 11. What is the reason for the desire to get rid of it so quickly is a big question. It is doubtful that the device’s lifespan was originally planned at 6 months. Probably, MediaTek simply discontinued the SoC Dimensity 1000+ 5G, on the basis of which the model is built. Dimensity 1000+ 5G smartphones will continue to be manufactured until stock runs out, but that will happen pretty soon.
But according to Liu Weibing, the successor to the Redmi K30 Ultra is already being prepared. He will also receive SoC MediaTek, but already of a new generation. It is rumored to be a 6nm MT6893 with a CPU clocked at 3.0GHz. It can be presented on January 20.
