Redmi has already launched its first smartphone in the K50 series, dubbed Redmi K50 Gaming Edition, which is based on the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC.
Lu Weibong, President of Xiaomi Group China and CEO of Redmi, confirmed that the upcoming Redmi K50 series smartphone based on the Dimensity 9000 chipset runs quite smoothly. We know from earlier leaks that the Redmi K50 Pro will get the Dimensity 8100 chipset and only the K50 Pro Plus will get the Dimensity 9000.
The Redmi K50 Pro Plus is expected to launch soon in China and will likely be released as Poco F4 Pro in other parts of the world. We already know that the Dimensity 9000 outperforms Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC in tests like Geekbench.

The Dimensity 9000 is reported to have an edge over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 as the chip was manufactured using TSMC’s 4nm process rather than Samsung, resulting in better power efficiency and cooler temperatures. The SoC consists of one Cortex-X2 super-core, three Cortex-A710 large cores, and four Cortex-A510 small cores. The CPU is paired with a Mali-G710 GPU.
So far, the Dimensity 9000 SoC can only be found in the Oppo Find X5 Pro, which remains exclusive to China for now.
