Redmi will no longer release flagships with conventional LCD screens

Weibo users asked Xiaomi’s new product manager Wang Teng Thomas if the company is considering launching a flagship LCD phone based on the Snapdragon 870 SoC.

Earlier, Lu Weibing, general manager of the Redmi brand, conducted a survey on his page on which screens are preferred by buyers of Redmi smartphones today. The voting results showed that 6,314 people chose LCD screens and 15,000 people voted for AMOLED displays.
