Reese Witherspoon believes that Hollywood needs to “get used” to advances in technology artificial intelligence (AI), as the technology is “here to stay”. The actress spoke about the subject during the PaleyFest event at the Dolby Theater, in the world capital of cinema.
“It’s here to stay, so just get used to it,” he said.
One of the protagonists of “The Morning Show”, Reese Witherspoon also said that she is not afraid that artificial intelligence could “take your job”, and that, if used correctly, the tool can boost creativity.
“And I think AI is not coming to take your job; The people who know how to use AI are the ones coming to take your job. So, learn about it. It should be a tool upon which we place our own creativity, our own humanity and our own ethics,” she said.
“This is a broad conversation – for women and people of color and people who are sometimes marginalized in these development spaces really need to join [no universo da IA]… let’s not be afraid of it, let’s dive in head first,” Witherspoon continued.
The 48-year-old star also has a very successful production company, Hello Sunshine, and she believes there has been a big shift with streaming services following the Hollywood strikes, which will ultimately make it “a little harder” to sell new programs.
“Streaming was the biggest product for three to four years, and there was a constant, never-ending demand for content,” he explained. “We could literally sell anything.”
“What I'm seeing now, I think on the buy and sell side, is that probably part of the strike was a reset for these studios that are unprofitable — the streaming services — and an opportunity for them to resize and reshape and reduce costs. “, continued.
“So we'll probably see less stuff, which is possibly a positive thing, right? It was just chaos. We can slow down a little. But there will be an intention around it, and it will be a little more difficult”, added the actress.
