Referendum to protect women from abortion in the US – Florida Supreme Court approves

The Supreme Court of Florida approved yesterday the holding of a referendum, together with the presidential elections that will be held in November in America, in order to write in the Constitution of the state the protection of women's right to abortion. This success by abortion rights activists in putting the issue at the center of the election campaign was tempered by another decision made at the same time by the Supreme Court of this southeastern US state, allowing a law to go into effect abortions after the sixth week of pregnancy.
