Lombardy, surprisingly, is in the yellow zone. Only four Regions and one Province remain in orange: Puglia, Sardinia, Sicily, Umbria and the province of Bolzano. There are 8 regions above the critical occupancy threshold for intensive care. At the national level, the rate is below the critical threshold of 30%, but there are “strong regional variations with some regions where the absolute number of hospitalized patients in the critical area and the relative impact, together with the incidence, still impose restrictive measures”. According to experts, “the epidemic remains in a delicate phase and a new rapid increase in the number of cases in the coming weeks is possible if mitigation measures are not strictly maintained both at national and regional level”.
The borders between the regions remain closed until 15 February, excluding exceptions for work and health and the possibility of reaching second homes. Gyms, swimming pools and cinemas will not reopen before March 5th. In the regions in the yellow band, green light for museums that can be opened again from Monday to Friday with limited admissions.
