Registration for the University for All Program (Prouni) 2022 will open this Tuesday (22). This year, students will be able to use the scores from the 2020 and 2021 National High School Exam (Enem) to participate in the selection process. According to the Ministry of Education (MEC), the system will automatically consider the highest score obtained.
Registration for Prouni is open until Friday (25) and must be done online, through the Single Portal for Access to Higher Education. The same site must be used to enter the Unified Selection System (Sisu) and the Student Financing Fund (Fies).
According to the schedule presented by the ministry, after the end of registration, the result of the first call will be presented on March 2nd. The period for proving the information of the first call will take place between March 3 and 14.
The main change of Prouni in 2022 is the possibility for the student to use the last two grades of the Enem for the selection process. Until then, it was only possible to consider the score obtained in the exam in the previous year. The news was made official last Friday (18) through a decree published by President Jair Bolsonaro (PL).
“With the measure, students who took one of the last two Enem (2021 and 2020 editions) can apply for Prouni. As for those who have taken both editions of the exam, the registration system will automatically consider the edition in which the candidate achieved the highest score,” the ministry said in a statement.
Created in 2004, Prouni offers full and partial scholarships (50% of the monthly fee), in undergraduate and sequential specific training courses in private higher education institutions.
To participate in the program, the candidate must prove monthly gross family income, per person, of up to 1.5 minimum wage (equivalent to R$1,818 in 2022) to obtain the full scholarship. For the partial scholarship, the monthly income per person must be up to three minimums (equivalent to R$3,636 in 2022).
MEC informs that, in order to participate in Prouni, it is necessary to meet at least one of the following: having completed high school in a public or private school (for those who studied in a public school or with a full or partial scholarship in a private school, there will be priority for the pre-selection of Prouni grants).
“The other conditions that must be met are: being a teacher in the public school system, in the effective exercise of teaching basic education and integrating the permanent staff of a public institution or being a person with a disability. For those who prove to be a public school teacher, the income limit required for other candidates is not applied.
