The average price of regular gasoline in Brazil had the ninth consecutive weekly decline. In practice, fuel is 2.8% cheaper at the pumps. The data are from the National Agency for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP), released this Friday (7). More than 4.6 thousand gas stations in the country were consulted and the values correspond to the period from 2 to 8 January.
Currently, the average price of gasoline is R$ 6,596. In the last week of December, the cost registered at the pumps at the gas stations was R$ 6,618. The reduction in the value of fuel takes place from the week of November 7th to 13th, when a liter of the product was sold, on average, for R$ 6.754 to the final consumer.
In practice, the result already represents a drop of 2.8% in the value of gasoline for Brazilians. According to the economist at FGV, Joelson Sampaio, the result is promising even though the percentage is not so high.
“Just because it’s not increasing in an environment of high inflation, it’s a positive scenario. This helps a lot [o consumidor]. We are going to continue with the expectation that the value will reduce even more”, he said.
Rio de Janeiro has the highest value per liter of regular gasoline: R$7.133. In the state of Rio de Janeiro, according to the ANP, the price for fuel can reach R$7,899. Acre appears as the second place in Brazil with the highest cost of the product, with an average price of R$7,024.
Ethanol also showed a slight drop in the period analyzed by the Agency compared to the previous week. The price went from R$ 5.063 per liter to R$ 5.051. It is the fourth consecutive week of reduction in fuel value. In November, the price was R$ 5,128.
The average price of cooking gas in Brazil, 13kg LPG, was R$ 102.55, showing a slight increase in recent weeks. In Mato Grosso, the average price of gas is R$ 122.35.
Finally, Diesel oil registered an average price of R$ 5,344 between 2 and 8 January. The value of fuel, used mainly by truck drivers, has remained stable over the past three weeks.
