Reinforced yellow zone, but what is it? And what happens next week

Two days of yellow zone, Thursday and Friday, then two days orange, then back, from Monday 11, to the division of regions by color made according to the Rt index. The quick summary is this, but the practice is made up of restrictions and details.

STRENGTHENED YELLOW AREA
The yellow zone is not like it was before the holidays. The movements have limitations, first of all the fact that until January 15, the expiry of the last Dpcm, the borders between the regions are closed. All shops and services such as hairdressers and beauty centers are open in all regions.

Bars and restaurants can stay open until 6pm and can deliver and take away service in the evening. Elementary and middle schools are open. High school is distant.

It remains the curfew from 10pm to 5am and there is a ban on gathering. Outdoor and indoor masks are always mandatory. To leave the region, the proven needs remain valid: work reasons, health and urgency. You can always return to your home or residence. On yellow days, the self-certification is only needed if you leave the region for the above reasons and if, for the same reasons, you need to go out between 10pm and 5am.

ORANGE AREA
At the weekend, all regions are in the orange zone. It means that you can not leave your community if not for proven needs. However, there remains the possibility of visit relatives or friends once a day in two without counting children under 14. Bars and restaurants can only take away and deliver. The shops are open. You can go to second homes in the region. The curfew remains.

NEXT WEEK
From Monday, the day on which face-to-face lessons for high school should resume at 50%, the divisions of the regions by color return according to the indications of the data processed by the Istituto Superiore di Sanità and the Technical Scientific Committee. The reference index is always the RT which indicates the extent of the contagion. The colors are always yellow, orange (we only move in the municipality, shops open, bars and restaurants closed) and red, with increasing restrictions. The closure of the regional borders remain in force until January 15 and the blocking of movements from 10pm to 5am.

With the current indices (but the definitive figure is that of Friday 8) many regions could be in the orange zone: Emilia-Romagna, Veneto, Lombardy, Liguria, Piedmont, Puglia, Calabria and Basilicata. In yellow the others none in red, at least for now. Lowering the threshold for entry into the orange and red bands increases the possibility of restrictions: with Rt at 1 and no longer 1.25 you enter orange, with Rt at 1.25, not 1.50, you enter red with limited movements and part of the shops closed.

It remains there derogation travel for two people to visit friends or family, but, in the red zone regions, it should be limited to travel within one’s own municipality, not in the region as it was during the Christmas holidays.

NEW DPCM
The new Dpcm should come into force on January 16, which the government is expected to discuss over the weekend. As always there are penalty takers who ask for a lockdown as long as the one in the United Kingdom and which Germany intends to extend. For others, a softer line must be followed.

The maintenance of the ban on travel between regions until January 31st. Curfew should remain at 10pm. Swimming pools, gyms, cinemas and theaters remain closed. The opening limit of the premises should remain at 18.
