Relaxation measures and emergency plans with local lockdown in Britain

Britain may have returned to times we have almost forgotten, allowing hugs, meetings at home, pubs and restaurants and indoors, but at the same time there is concern about the spread of its variant strain. coronavirus first found in India.

According to a report in The Times, quoted by AMPE, British ministers are considering emergency plans for local lockdown or delaying the restart of the economy after June 21st.

Officials have drawn up plans based on the Level 4 restrictions model introduced last year, according to the newspaper.

Citizens will be instructed to stay at home and unnecessary shopping and hospitality infrastructure will be closed, if said variant strain is not brought under control, the same newspaper added.

According to the publication, companies in areas subject to the implementation of the measures will receive grants of over 18,000 pounds (20,951 euros), while the program will be managed by local authorities, with the payments being adjusted according to the duration of implementation of the restrictions.

Grants will also be available for the most affected areas, such as nightclubs, but also for “mass events” including festivals, as provided by another scenario, which is being considered on the basis of delaying the reopening of businesses after June 21, according to the same press release.

Earlier yesterday, Monday, the prime minister’s spokesman Boris Johnson said the government could not yet make an assessment of whether it would further lift the lockdown restrictions in the UK on June 21 and wanted to consider as much data as possible before making its decisions.

Britain reported 1,979 new cases of coronavirus infection yesterday and five deaths within 28 days of a positive test in COVID-19, while data show that 36.7 million people have received the first dose of the vaccine.
