Religious calls parishioners stingy for not giving him a luxurious watch

A few days ago, a video of Pastor Carlton Funderburke, a religious from Kansas, Missouri, United States, who caused controversy after he called his parishioners stingy for not giving him luxurious gifts as part of the offering, went viral on social networks.

During his sermon at one of his ceremonies, Funderburke expressed that he was very disappointed and upset with the attendees of his church because since last year he had asked them for a luxurious watch and still did not have it in his hands.

The pastor leads the Christian church Church at the Well, where he reminded his parishioners of his lavish request and, not content with that, he continued to blackmail them by asking them about his expenses, arguing that he should also be important in their lives.

Don’t you think I’m worth the money you spend at McDonald’s, at Red Lobster? Am I not worth a St. John Knit? No, you can’t afford it. Am I not worth all of you Louis Vuitton? Am I not worth Prada? Am I not worth Gucci?

The video became so popular that many Internet users severely criticized the attitude of the religious. After dozens of criticisms and controversy, the pastor had no choice but to apologize publicly.

Although there is a context behind the content of the video, no context will be enough to explain the pain and anguish caused by my words. I have spoken with those to whom I am accountable and received their correction and instruction.

The religious said that his heart or feelings towards the people of God are not reflected in the video, but he understands that in the clip it cannot be discerned and for that he asks for a sincere apology.
