Renatinho, lead singer of the group Bokaloka, dies after a heart attack

Vocalist Renatinho, from the pagoda group Bokaloka, died this Thursday (5) in Rio de Janeiro. The artist had been hospitalized in a hurry on the night of this Wednesday (4) due to the onset of a heart attack.

At first, he was taken to the Lourenço Jorge Hospital, in Barra da Tijuca to receive medication and undergo tests.

According to the advisory, the singer was “stable” when he was transferred to the National Institute of Cardiology, where he died. In the health unit, he also performed a surgical procedure.

“Renatinho will always be remembered as one of the great names of Pagode in the 90s, making history in Brazilian music. Samba and pagode are in mourning”, highlighted the band’s representative.

Still according to the advisory, he was in a bar when he started to feel bad, being attended by members of the production and taken to the hospital.

This was the singer’s second heart attack in less than a year. In May, when the musicians were touring Europe, in Paris, Renatinho also suffered an acute myocardial infarction.

Details on the time and place of the wake and burial will still be released.
