Renault confirms investment of R$ 2 billion in Brazil until 2025

Renault confirmed this Thursday (30) an investment of R$ 2 billion in Brazil until 2025. The resources will be used to produce a platform for the production of a new SUV and a new 1.0 turbo engine. The announcement had been made in March.

The company informed, in a note, that the new platform, called CMF-B, of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance, allows the creation of new products in the future, as well as an eventual electrification.

According to the company, its strategic plan is structured in three phases, launched in parallel. The first, called “resurrection”, extends until 2023, with a focus on recovering cash generation and margins.

The second —“renewal”— runs until 2025, for product renewal to increase brand profitability. And the third is the “revolution”, which should take place from 2025, to focus the business model on mobility, technology and energy.

“This is an important phase for Renault in Latin America, as we are preparing to launch new products and engines for our customers,” said Luiz Fernando Pedrucci, President of Renault Latin America.

The BRL 2 billion announcement comes after the last BRL 1.1 billion cycle announced in March 2021, intended for the launches of the Zoe E-Tech, the brand’s 100% electric car, and the Captur model.
