Renault has unveiled the Renault Megane E-Tech Electric, which will soon go on sale. It will be Renault’s first electric vehicle in the C-Class and will complement the Renault Twingo in the A-Class and the Renault ZOE in the B-Class.
Last fall, French automaker Renault unveiled the Megane eVision electric car concept, and now the car has morphed into the Renault Megane E-Tech Electric and is almost ready to go.
Renault Megane E-Tech Electric, which is also called MeganE in the company, is built on the proprietary CMF-EV platform. It is equipped with a 160 kW (217 hp) electric motor and a 60 kW • h battery, which will cover a distance of up to 450 km using the WLTP protocol.
This summer, 30 pre-production vehicles can be seen on European roads, where they will be tested. They have already been assembled at a factory in Douai, France, where the Espace, Scenic and Talisman models are produced. Mass production starts later.
All pre-production vehicles are covered with a signature painting from Renault Design, which consists of a play of lines and patterns of the new company logo.
