Renault has announced that its Russian-assembled cars will now be equipped with the Renault Connect proprietary system. It is a platform consisting of a telematics unit, a multimedia system with Internet update technology, the My Renault application and remote services. Previously, the same complex was presented on the Russian market by Kia, however, unlike the Koreans, the French will install it immediately at the factories.
Together with the car module, a Beeline SIM card is attached for communication, and the exchange of information is carried out through a cloud system consisting of 28 servers. This solution allows car owners to control their cars through the application: start the engine together with the activation of climate control, control the door and trunk locks, receive various information and car parameters (mileage, location, etc.), send a route to the on-board navigator, and much more. You can also use your smartphone to contact support and take advantage of TomTom’s advanced navigation features.
Renault Connect will soon appear in cars equipped with the EasyLink multimedia system, and these are the Duster, Kaptur and Arkana crossovers.
