Renault showed a miniature electric car that looks like a forklift. Instead of a steering wheel, he has a joystick

Surprising modern users who are interested in the topic of electric vehicles and various concepts is quite problematic, but the Mobilize brand, which is a subsidiary of Renault, has certainly succeeded. Called the Solo, the newest concept gives the audience a glimpse of the vehicle of the future – a single-seat car, if you can call it that, originally designed by the Indian studio’s designers as a skateboard with a roof. Accordingly, only one person can move on such an electric car.

At the same time, the dimensions of the Solo electric car are more than compact – 1.37×0.9×1.75 meters allow you to easily find a parking space or squeeze between two classic cars in the parking lot. And despite such compact dimensions, the novelty is a completely usable vehicle – the design provides for three wheels (two front ones are driving), a door (one and only on the left side of the body), as well as an interesting control element. In this vehicle, the manufacturer decided to use a joystick instead of a steering wheel, which looks rather unusual.

The creators of Solo said that the electric car on three wheels has a special seat in the cabin, under which there is a compact luggage compartment. It will probably be possible to use it exclusively for some kind of hand luggage, since even shopping with such a trunk is not possible – the vehicle is too compact in size. Also, they will not allow you to drive hard on a three-wheeled car – the maximum speed is 25 km / h. This means that even cyclists, skateboarders or fans of scooters will overtake this electric car without any difficulty.

True, a significant advantage is that, according to the manufacturer, Solo can be driven even without a driver’s license – while driving, you can not use a seat belt and a helmet, since the electric car drives extremely slowly and takes up a minimum of space on the road. However, this rule will only work in certain countries, where it is possible in principle, and only after the government officially allows driving a vehicle without a driver’s license on public roads. But the idea, of course, is extremely attractive, especially for megacities.
