Rep. Vesyropoulos: We are restoring the return of the EFK to agricultural oil after 6 years

The ministerial decision was signed regarding the criteria and conditions for the return of the Special Consumption Tax (SCT) of diesel for agricultural use, as announced by the Deputy Minister of Finance, Apostolos Vesyropoulos, through his posting on social media.

As Mr. Vesyropoulos noted, the total amount of the refund increases to 70 million euros, from the 60 million euros that were initially announced, noting that “the refund amounts will be immediately credited to the farmers’ bank accounts”.

“The government reinstates the return of the EFK to agricultural oil after 6 years,” the Deputy Minister of Finance states in his post, adding: “Beneficiaries of the return are all farmers whose main occupation is natural persons registered in the Register of Agricultural Holdings until the 15 July 2022 and have submitted a Single Support Application for the years 2O21 and 2O22, who will immediately receive the amounts they are entitled to in their bank accounts, without applying or submitting additional supporting documents”.

He underlined that “the amount of the refund is calculated based on the maximum amounts of oil consumption per farmer, depending on the acres and the type of crop or the livestock he owns” and pointed out that “firm in the policy of supporting the primary sector, the government of Kyriakos Mitsotakis established with a special provision the non-seizure and irrefutability of the refundable amount with debts to the State, ensuring that the entitled EFK amounts will be paid in full. At the same time, we proceeded to increase the amount that will be distributed from 60 to 70 million euros”.
