Report detects antidepressants, marijuana and opioids in Taylor Hawkins’ body

The first results of the forensic examination carried out on the body of Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins detected the presence of at least ten different substances in his urine. The musician had his death announced by the band this Saturday (26).

Among them were THC (a substance present in marijuana), antidepressants, the anxiolytic benzodiazepine and opioids, according to a report released on Saturday night by the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic of Colombia, an agency equivalent to the Federal Public Ministry of Brazil.

Hawkins died in a hotel in Bogotá, Colombia. The band was in the country to perform at a music festival on Friday.

“The National Institute of Legal Medicine [da Colômbia] continues with the medical studies to have a full clarification of the events that led to the death of Taylor Hawkins”, says the statement, published on the social networks of the Colombian Attorney’s Office.

“The Attorney General’s Office will continue with the investigations and will report the results obtained in a timely manner,” the document adds.

Earlier, a statement from the Bogotá Department of Health said an ambulance had been sent to the hotel after an emergency call reported that a man was experiencing chest pain.

“Hawkins did not respond to CPR [sigla para reanimação cardiopulmonar] and was pronounced dead,” the department’s report said.

The group was scheduled to perform this Sunday (27) at Lollapalooza Brasil, in São Paulo. The festival organization reported that Foo Fighters canceled the entire South American tour. The band was scheduled to end the day on the main stage. A special show in honor of the musician will be led by rapper Emicida and the band Planet Hemp.
