Interest in cryptocurrencies on the Internet increased sharply in January.
In the report of The TIE team, which analyzes the activity of Internet users, it says that the number of requests “buy crypto” in the search engine from Google has increased. This figure is now at a record high.
Even during the famous bitcoin run in late 2017, people around the world were less interested in buying digital currency options than they are now.
The top five countries, whose residents sent the largest number of “buy crypto” requests on the Internet, were not the United States or China at all, but Slovenia, Australia, Nigeria, Singapore and Albania. This is evidenced by the latest data from the Google Trends service.
One of The TIE analysts, Trey Dahlem, commented on the results of the study:
No matter if it’s related [рекордный интерес к криптовалютам] with the recent rally that we have seen, or even with investors looking for inflation protection, one thing is clear – there is a growing interest in the cryptosphere, and investors are looking for the most convenient ways to get into this ecosystem.
The number of search queries “buy cryptocurrency” in Russia has also grown significantly. However, this indicator still lags behind the record levels observed in our country at the turn of 2017-2018.
The largest number of such requests since the beginning of January was sent by Internet users from Moscow, Tatarstan, Moscow Region, Krasnodar Territory and Sverdlovsk Region.
