The report from the Legal Medical Institute (IML) concluded that publicist Yuri Henrique Gabriel Santos de Castro, aged 23, died as a result of multiple trauma – multiple serious injuries to the body in different regions. He was rescued in the Santa Ifigênia region, central São Paulo, last Monday (22), but died in hospital.
After being registered as a suspicious death in the 5th Police District of Aclimação, the case was forwarded to the Department of Homicide and Personal Protection (DHPP), following reports on social media of other alleged disappearances of young gay men in the central region of the capital. The state Department of Public Security does not confirm the existence of other incidents.
According to information, Yuri was last seen leaving the Hotel Chilli, a well-known gay sauna in the center of São Paulo .
The DHPP has already requested images of the scene and is identifying any witnesses who were with the publicist on the day.
The general director of DHPP, delegate Ivalda Aleixo, confirmed to CNN that additional tests were requested to understand the circumstances that led to the polytrauma. The department is awaiting the results of the tests that were carried out on Saturday (27).
In an interview with CNN , the victim's sister said that the last time he was seen, he was arguing with hotel security guards. “We started looking for him, because Yuri is not one to disappear like that, and we reached a friend who was with him [na sauna]”, he stated.
A friend of Yuri, who was with him in the sauna, told the CNN that after a disagreement over the command values, both would have left their cell phones with the security guards as a guarantee of payment and returned to the room to sleep. Upon waking up, the friend realized that the publicist was not in the room and went to look for him.

According to the report, security guards reported that Yuri had called the police and left the place claiming to be “persecuted”. The security guards said they went after him and made him return to the sauna, but the victim ran out without clothes and cell phone, remaining missing until he was found in the Santa Ifigênia region.
Hotel Chilli said, in a statement, that Yuri left the hotel premises at 4:25 am on the 22nd. “The establishment and its employees have no responsibility for the events that occurred, and there was no aggression or forceful action towards the guest. The administration and employees extend their sincere condolences to family and friends”, says the establishment.
