They followed Iran's unprecedented direct attack on Israel with hundreds of drones, cruise missiles and ballistic missiles on April 13. The attack was launched in retaliation for the deadly bombing that leveled the Islamic Republic's consulate in the Syrian capital on April 1, which Tehran blamed on the Israeli armed forces.
