As reported by the New York Times, three unnamed Iranian officials said that Khani was last seen in Beirut last week, when he was there to support Hezbollah, which has suffered heavy casualties from recent Israeli airstrikes. However, since then, rumors have circulated that he may have been killed in one of these attacks.
